The European Championship ended with a gala concert, which was attended by the winners and prize-winners of the championship, the best European figure skaters. Belarus presented four spot as a country, which organizes the event. The athletes demonstrated their skill in skating to the stormy applause of the spectators. The competitive spirit went into the background. The audience enjoyed a bright show filled with colorful numbers. Belarusian artists, glowing drummer shows, falling balls. Participants and organizers of the championship give a positive emotion for all people. Only 12 thousand spectators attended the official closing ceremony of the championship. More>>

 

The last championships of Javier Fernandez

Olympic bronze medalist, two-time World Champion and seven-time European Champion Javier Fernandez was practically the most popular skater at the European Championships in Minsk. After the Olympics he decided that 13th European Championships will be the last in his career. Javi won his first golden medal precisely at the continental tournament in 2013. Despite skater quitting so

Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron are 5-times European champions

The Free Dance closed the European figure skating championships in Minsk. The gold was taken by Olympic silver medalists, French skaters Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron (217.98). Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin from Russia “booked” the second place already after the Short program (206.41). The bronze went to Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri from Italy (199.84). Javier Fernandez became 7-times European champion

The Spanish skater Javier Fernandez won his 7th gold of the European Championships (271.59). Alexander Samarin from Russia landed on the second place (269.84), and the bronze medal went to Italian skater Matteo Rizzo (247.08), surprisingly and also unexpectedly even for himself.

Mikhail Kolyada, who was the leader after the Short program, couldn’t not cope with nerves as the majority from the strongest warm-up group and took the 5th position (240.87). More>>


 

Sofia Samodurova is the new European champion

At the European figure skating championships in Minsk medals were played by ladies. Sofia Samodurova from Alexei Mishin’s team surprisingly won the gold with a huge handicap (213.84). Olympic champion Alina Zagitova couldn’t defense the title and landed on the second place (198.34). The bronze medal was taken by Viveca Lindfors from Finland (194.40). Another Russian skater Stanislava Konstantinova

stopped just in a step before the podium (189.72). Alexia Paganini of Switzerland which was in top 3 after short program all in all took the 6th position (179.90). More>>

 

Rhythm Dance

The third competition day of the European Championships 2019 was opened by the ice dancers’ performance. Here we saw 25 pairs from 16 countries of Europe. After the Rhythm Dance the set of small medals was played as following. The current leaders are the French skaters Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron (84.79). Alexandra Stepanova and Ivan Bukin of Russia landed on the 2nd position (81.37). The third place was taken by Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri from Italy (79.05). Belarusian skaters are currently on 19th position and were qualified for the Free Dance.  More>>

 

French skaters took the leadership in the Ice Dance competition

At the European Figure Skating Championships in Minsk the competition between ice dancers have started. The Rhythm dance is the first in the todays program. Before 2018 this section was called Short dance, which in the season 2010-2011 replaced Compulsory and Original dances. More>>

 

Vanessa James and Morgan Cipres won the first golden medals of European figure skating championships

Tonight at the Minsk-Arena pairs played the first set of medals. French skaters Vanessa James and Morgan Cipres became the winners of the European figure skating championships 2019 (225.66). Former champions Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov from Russia got season’s best, but after 2 programs they are on the 2nd place. Young Russian pair Aleksandra Boikova and Dmitrii Kozlovskii, who skated inspiredly on the music of Petr Ilic Tchaikovsky from the ballet “Nutcracker”, unexpectedly took bronze (205.28).  More>>

The second day of the European championships started with a men's short program. In total 37 athletes from 29 countries were entered, including a Belarusian figure skater who was placed on the 30th position. Unfortunately, we will not see Yakau in the free program. Russia's Mikhail Kolyada won the small gold medal with a score of 100.49. The athlete managed to show the season's best. Then Alexander Samarin (Russia) with 91.97 points is in second place. The third place was taken by the six-time European champion Javier Fernandez. The Spaniard scored 91.84 points. More>>

Mikhail Kolyada from Russia is the current leader after the short program at the European Figure Skating Championships, his score is 100.49. Another Russian skater Alexander Samarin took the second position (91.97). The famous titled Spanish athlete Javier Fernandez is only on the third place. More>> 

 

A colorful pairs short program

The first competition day ended with a colorful pairs short program. The lied was at the representatives of Russia for a long time, but by the end of the program the list of prizes began to look like this.

The French representatives Vanessa James and Morgan Cipres firmly established the first place with a score of 76.55. The small silver medal was won by Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov with a result of 73.90 (Russia). The representatives of Italy, Nicole Della Monica and Matteo Guarize (73.70) had the third place. More>>

The first competition day at the European Figure Skating Championships ended with the pairs' short program. Vanessa James and Morgan Cipres (76.55) from France are current leaders. Evgenia Tarasova Vladimir Morozov (73.90) of Russia are at the second place and Italians Nicole Della Monica and Matteo Guarise took the small bronze medal (73.70). More>> 

 

Gold of ladies Short Program

The first competition day of the European Figure Skating Championship was opened by the ladies short program. Representatives of twenty-eight countries, including the Olympic champion 2018 - Alina Zagitova, performed their programs.

Russian skater Alina Zagitova won the short program with a score of 75.00. Sofia Samodurova, who also representing Russian national team, took the second position. She earned 72.88 points. Alexia Paganini of Switzerland was today on the third place with the score of 65.64. More>>
